Ecomomic Justice Programme

Overview

The Economic Justice Programme (EJP) is under the Governance Unit of Caritas Zambia. The programme in its current form began in January 20001. Prior to this, it was called the Structural Adjustment programme (SAP) Monitoring Project, which begun in 1994.

The EJP is concerned with issues of economic justice arising from the implementation of national and international policies. The EJP is inspired by the Catholic Social Teaching and strives to bring these values in the analysis of relations and structures.

In the analysis of policies and practices, EJP is strongly guided by the Catholic Church’s Teaching on the centrality of the human person, concern for the poor, solidarity and common good.
